COVID-19 Update from Ash Trail Lodge

September 21, 2020

Hello valued customers, friends and neighbors,

It has been a wild ride here this summer with the COVID pandemic and the closing of the Canadian Border... both of which greatly impacted our business. One in an unusual way and the other making us busier than ever in our cabins. Thank you to all who visited us this summer season and we look forward to hosting you again in 2021! This is our last Summer/Fall 2021 update until later in November to update our snowmobile season. We are closing our LODGE RESTAURANT September 26 at 8:30pm. We will continue the bar from 4 pm to 10 pm daily serving our homemade pizza until Friday October 2. Our bar and Lodge will be closed for the season beginning Saturday October 3. We continue to rent our cabins throughout October and November.

For those visiting in the next 12 days... We made a decision quite some time ago to follow the State of Minnesota guidelines implemented for COVID. This is required so we do not jeopardize our various state and county licenses and strike some sort of balance with as many guests as we can. We also have our employees health to protect as best we can.

The guidelines are: MASK UP PLEASE!  When you enter the lodge you must wear a mask until you are seated at the bar or in the dining room. Should you stand up, visit the restroom or exit you must wear your mask again. Everyone must maintain “social distancing” - tables in the dining room, patrons seated in the bar area and customers on the outside deck. Thank you for respecting these state COVID guidelines while at Ash Trail Lodge. We want to keep the COVID virus away!

For those eating in our dining room thru September 26... Reservations are required and can be made at the door if you arrive without one. Please expect to wait if you do not have a reservation.

Restroom facilities remain available to all guests as long as they are wearing a mask!

As always, call Steve or Deb if you have any questions regarding your stay. We are excited to see you!

About our Lodge: The Lodge opens to guests at 7:30am for dock services, licenses, ice, etc. It is open to guests throughout the day for services. Please wear your mask! The bar opens at 4pm.

Check-in time is now 3pm. Check-out time is no later than 9am. Please plan your arrival time accordingly.  We suggest you call the lodge a day or two before your arrival and we will let you know if an earlier arrival time is possible.

In addition to bringing your own personal bath towels, you should bring your own blanket and pillows. We will provide the professionally laundered sheets for your bed and your kitchen towels. All bedspreads, blankets and pillows have been removed from the cabins. Please let us know 48 hours before arrival how many people are in your group so we can make up ONLY the beds that will be used during your stay. Please advise all members of your group to bring their own blanket & pillow. If you are unable to bring these items, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you. We are super committed to providing you a sanitized and disinfected cabin during your stay.

You should bring a supply of hand sanitizers and wipes to use during your stay. We may have a limited supply for sale if you need some. As always, dish soap and hand/bath soaps will be provided in your cabin. As always, complimentary firewood will be provided at your fire-ring throughout your stay.

We ask that only ONE BOAT be at the gas dock at any given time. As of this writing, Fish Cleaning Service is now available except for Tuesday evenings. Steve will let you know the status of fish cleaning staff at your checkin! We continue to offer bait, gas and ice through Friday October 2, 2020.

We also work on the 'honor system” if staff is not readily available on the docks to assist you with gas, bait and ice. There are sheets inside the dock house with your cabin name. You simply mark what you took and it will be added to your bill at the end of your stay.

As noted above, we are open for in-lodge and to-go dining until Saturday September 26 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. The bar opens at 4pm and closes at 10pm. From Sunday September 27 to October 2 we are offering our homemade pizzas from 4pm to 10pm daily.

We highly recommend you purchase your fishing license online or over the phone prior to your arrival.  If necessary, we will make accommodations to purchase your license on our DNR terminal.

Your final bill will be ready the morning of your departure. The office is open at 7:30 am. Check out is 9:00 am.  With advance notice, your bill “can” be available the evening before your departure. Please let Steve or Deb know in advance you are settling your bill and please do so before 7pm.

Options for paying your bill: check, cash or credit card.

We Hope You Enjoy Your Stay! THANK YOU!

Steve & Deb Wieber
